More Advisors and Mentors Announced for The Orchard Project Episodic Lab

Hello from the Orchard Project!

We are thrilled to share the growing and incredible lineup of industry leaders who will be advising our first class of Orchard Project Episodic Lab writers this summer. The advisors, who are both helping us structure this new world-class program and some of which will be on-site  having one-on-one creative story meetings with participants to help them elevate their pilots, have written some of my own favorite TV shows. Some are Orchard Project alumni themselves — having written for theater, TV, and film — and some are new to our OP family. Across the board, their enthusiasm and willingness to share the “secret sauce” with a new generation of writers is contagious. I, for one, can’t wait to see what this pioneer class creates.

Our current current list of advisors include:

  • Warren Leight (Showrunner, Law & Order, SVU; Showrunner, In Treatment)

  • David Mandel (Showrunner, Veep; Seinfeld, SNL)

  • Becca Brunstetter (Executive Producer, This is Us)

  • Theresa Rebeck (Creator and Showrunner, Smash)

  • Etan Frankel (Executive Producer, Shameless; Executive Producer, Get Shorty)

  • Dan Dietz (Co-Producer, BULL; Writer, Person of Interest; Executive Story Editor, Westworld)

  • Jamie Pachino (The Brave, Halt and Catch Fire)

  • Robert Schenkkan (Writer, The Pacific)

  • Andrew Guest (Consulting Producer, Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

  • Gabrielle Allan (Co-Executive Producer, Veep; Co-Executive Producer, Scrubs)

  • Jennifer Crittenden (Co-Executive Producer, Veep; Consulting Producer, Arrested Development)

First-round applications to the OP Episodic Lab are due next week on April 13, 2018. If you know of anybody who might be a good fit, please encourage them to apply!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to talk with you any time about our new Episodic Lab or other other programs.
