About the Show:
Inspired by interviews with undocumented immigrants from Latin America living in New York, Fandango for Butterflies (and Coyotes) will premiere in February/March 2020 in all five boroughs of New York City! The piece will take the form of a fandango, a community celebration where stories are brought to life through live performance, music and dance. Our borough partners are: LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (Queens); Lehman Stages (Bronx); The Point/Open Hydrant Theatre (Bronx); Snug Harbor Cultural Center (Staten Island); La Mama (Manhattan); Irondale (Brooklyn).
The performances will be in English and Spanish, making it accessible to Spanish and English-speaking audiences. We’re also partnering with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs who will have a booth at our performances, which will provide both immigrants and allies with resources and actionable steps.
Upcoming Plans:
World Premiere: February 6-March 28, 2020
