Once again, we find ourselves in the midst of the application period for the Orchard Project. As in the past, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your past, present, and on-going support of new work and our vision. And, as we begin to search for more bold voices to join our community, we once again look to you for recommendations. Your recommendations are an invaluable part of this process; they help us to find the best people with the boldest ideas who are prepared to take advantage of the Orchard Project and who will help the program continue to improve and grow. Dearest OP alums,We hope your autumn has been wonderful thus far! If you are in town, we want to invite you and a guest to an exclusive Orchard Project afternoon on Wednesday, 11/9 at 2pm to attend an OP-accelerated show, Howard Fishman’s A Star Has Burnt My Eye. Written by Howard, the production is directed by Paul Lazar and features a cast that includes Howard and OP Alum Artist Jean Rohe (2015). This project was in residence this past summer in Saratoga Springs.Complimentary tickets for our special alumni afternoon are first come, first served. Calling all theater innovators! Applications for the Summer 2018 Orchard Project are now open. Applicants must apply by December 1, 2017. During the OP's eleventh season, we accelerated more than 25 projects, added new initiatives like BUSK! and our OP Family Initiative, and supported pathbreaking artists, from LubDub Theatre to Ryan Haddad to Mo Rocca, and a bunch in between.As we enter the 2017-2018 season, we are excited to see works that were born at the Orchard Project performed on stages in New York City and beyond -- and we are looking forward to meeting the teams and projects that will join us next summer.
