Emma Goidel’s plays include The Gap (2018 Barrymore Award), Local Girls (Finalist, Princess Grace Award), A Knee That Can Bend (Finalist, 2016 Barrymore Award; American Theatre Critics Association Steinberg Award Nominee; Lanford Wilson Award Nominee), and We Can All Agree To Pretend This Never Happened (Òran Mór in Glasgow, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Tiny Dynamite & InterAct Theatre Company). A current member of the Clubbed Thumb Emerging Writers Group, her work has been developed and presented by Ars Nova, InterAct, LAByrinth Theatre Co., Playwrights Realm, The Playwrights’ Center, New York Stage & Film, Azuka Theatre, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and PlayPenn’s The Foundry. Emma was a co-founder of Philadelphia’s critically acclaimed producing playwrights collective Orbiter 3, the youngest company ever to win a Barrymore Award. She is also a new member of the Kilroys, an LA-based collective of theater artists working to end discrimination against women (cis and trans*) and nonbinary playwrights.
